***Feel free to skip over this if you don't really care about what's going on in RL for me*** ( The boring RL stuff is here, if you want to read it... )Well, this is more of an "I'm still alive!" post than an actual update. So, feel free to skip over this post to more interesting ones on your F-lists. I know I'm not that interesting, after all. ;)
*Puts down her copy of Shadowfires(Dean Koontz...perfect Halloween reading) long enough to answer this because she has nothing else to write in this journal* 1) Nope, can't say I have because, unless you know what you're doing, who knows what'll happen(especially playing around with ouija boards) 2) Only if the Medium really knows what they're doing. I'd rather not be possessed by an evil spirit 3) Elvis, just so I could tell him how much I love his music. I'm sure he'd appreciate knowing that there are even people today who are fans of his music. 4) If the dead really has messages that they want to tell the living, I think they can find ways to tell us without going through a seance. It's up to the living to pick up on what the dead are trying to tell us. *hits "post" and goes back to her book*
Okay, while waiting for my copy of the second Death Note DS game to get here from Japan, I decided to finish Story Mode in Death Note: Kira Game. Even though the text is in Japanese, it's still possible to play the game. Here's how I did it: ( Look here for the guide! )
Heh...I got Light. Just start calling me Kira from now on. XD Results...post'em in a comment!
Sat, May. 9th, 2009, 06:02 pm H1N1 Flu Virus
Okay, before I get to the "srs bzns", Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit will be returning to Adult Swim this summer! Now, to the flu: My town, which was pretty much an "H1N1 flu free zone" since the outbreak began, is now reporting its first probable case. Well, I'm not overly concerned. Compared to the regular flu season, this is nothing, and people without any underlying health problems and aren't in the groups that are usually hit hardest by the flu(young children and infants, the elderly, and people with immune system problems), are recovering from it. So, of course the media is going to make it sound worse than it really is and make people panic. Instead of panicking, just do what I do: live normally, if you don't get it, great, if you do, then so be it. If you're healthy, you'll be sick for a little while, then recover. If you start coughing and you're running a fever, go see the doctor. The usual precautions taken during regular flu season apply here: - Sneeze or cough into your arm instead of your hand - Wash your hands frequently - Don't touch your eyes, mouth, or nose with your hands after touching something after someone else. Wash your hands first. - Don't buy into the media's attempts to create a panic I swear, when ever a new (or, in the case of MRSA, not so new) disease shows up, the media blows it way out of proportion and creates a panic. I'm still waiting for the Avian Flu pandemic they were panicking about a few years ago.
As President Ronald Reagan said "Government isn't the answer to the problem; Government is the problem." Whenever the government gets involved in a problem, they only make it worse, and that's both Democrats and Republicans. I mean, come on...we're in a "financial crisis" and some dumbass at the White House decides to spend $300,000+ in taxpayer money to fly the backup Air Force One over New York City, without telling the people, and scaring the crap outta them, just so they can take a picture. It would've been less expensive to just buy a copy of Photoshop and 'shop Air Force One into a pic of the Statue of Liberty.
What they can do is get the hell out of the private sector and stop using taxpayer money to bail out businesses that refuse to go under. It's a free market system, just let the businesses that won't or can't adapt go under. If they absolutely must meddle with the private sector, institute price caps and, during tough economic times, lower those price caps to keep people buying stuff. And for Christ's sake, don't spend taxpayer money to fly the backup Air Force One over New York, scaring the shit out of people.
Really, it depends on what people consider "old-school." Since I consider pre-N64/PS1 to be "old-school"(i.e: the 8 and 16-bit days), I'd have to say: - Pac-Man - Pong (have it on the Gameboy Color) -Tetris (NES) - Super Mario Bros. (NES) - Legend of Zelda(NES) - Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link(I must be the only one who actually liked that game. I still haven't beaten it, but I still liked it) - Super Mario Bros. 3 - Space Invaders - Chrono Trigger( SNES) - Harvest Moon(SNES) - Final Fantasy 3/6(SNES) - Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past(SNES) For the N64/PS1 generation: - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - The Legend of Dragoon(they need a sequel to this) - Final Fantasy 8(yes, I liked it better than FF7. I liked FF7, but not as much as 8 or 9) - Wild ARMS - Resident Evil 2 - Metal Gear Solid - Harvest Moon 64 - Harvest Moon: Back to Nature - Chrono Cross

To the people randomly friending me: I don't mean to sound unfriendly, but, unless I already know you, I'm not friending you back. To get me to friend you back, just comment to this post with the board you know me from and what your screenname is there. Also, there's no point in friending "notashorty"(Ed Elric), "i_like_sweets"(Tsuzuki Asato from Yami no Matsuei), or "hope_and_cats"(my Homunculus!Al character) because those are my RP journals, yet, I've had people friending "notashorty" and "i_like_sweets".
I'm going to take a very politically incorrect stance on this: save the taxpayers the money of housing those dirtbags and just take'em out back and shoot'em. There are already former Gitmo detainees returning to terrorism so those guys aren't going to reform just because we were nice to them. "But that's unconstitutional!"- BS, the Constitution doesn't apply to people who aren't citizens of the US. Therefore, it doesn't apply to people who'd blow up Gitmo and try to slaughter every Marine stationed there if given half a chance. They shouldn't get access to US courts, and they sure as hell shouldn't be transported into the US. "But it's against the Geneva Convention!"-It doesn't apply to terrorists. Besides, I'm certain that beheading a prisoner with a dull machete is also against the Geneva Convention. So, the terrorists are allowed to break the Geneva Convention, but our soldiers have to bend over backwards trying to make sure they don't break them. That's a steaming pile of BS. Let me get one thing straight here: They don't want to talk. They want everyone who's not Muslim to die and will do everything they can to create as big a body count as possible. They don't care whether you're black, white, hispanic, asian, Democrat, Republican, Liberal, or Conservative; if you don't believe the way they do, they want you, personally, dead. It never ceases to piss me off when people are more worried about the terrorists' human rights than the human rights of innocent people. In the recent Israeli-Palestinian conflict, everyone was so worried about the Palestinians dying that they forget that Hamas was firing rockets into Israel, killing two girls. What about the human rights of those girls. Meh, I'm stopping there, I'm getting too pissed off to enjoy my birthday now.
Title: Downward Spiral Chapter: 3 of God knows how many Fandom: Code Geass Pairing: SuzakuxLelouch Rating: PG-13 for now, NC-17 later on Warnings: Death and very depressed Lelouch and AU. Also, unbeta'd. Summary: What would happen if Nunnally died before Lelouch got his Geass? Previous chapters: Use the tags ( Here be the fic! )Liked it? Hated it? Wish I would stop writing it? Let me know(except for the last one. I'm determined to finish it)!
Nope, then again, being part Irish, I'm immune to that stupid tradition. Even though I don't own anything green, I usually try to wear something that has green in it. We usually stay in on St. Patrick's Day because of all the morons who think they can drink like an Irishman, but today, we had to go to Wal-Mart and get a few things. Since my birthday's at the end of the month and Mom never knows what the games on my list are, I browsed the game section of Electronics. Not finding anything, and noticing that they had a demo Wii set up with Mario Power Tennis, I decided to play it until she came back. That's a fun game. It might just be on my Christmas list. I was doing pretty well until I had to go.
I just don't get many. Really, the only compliments I get are on my fics on aff.net. Those tend to make me happy, especially if I wasn't completely happy with the chapter. It's a good feeling when you struggle to write a chapter through a case of "writer's block' and someone likes the chapter anyway. Speaking of, I really need to write something for "An Unlikely Couple. My attentions been on "Downward Spiral" for so long I almost forgot my little RoyxEd fic. ^^;
Two words: cell phones Even though California passed a restriction on talking on cell phones while driving(and had to pass a second restriction on texting while driving), I still see people with phones "glued" to the side of their heads while driving. Also annoying, people who have loud phone conversations in restaurants. I went there to eat, not hear your conversation.
Posting this as a way of taking a short break from reading The Taking by Dean Koontz. His books are weird, scary, and sometimes grotesque, but I love them! Hmm...I think I need to clean up my tags to get rid of the tags that answering Writer's Block questions put in my tags list. Anyway, on that random thought, here's the chapter. ^^; Title: Downward Spiral Chapter: 2 of God knows how many Fandom: Code Geass Rating: PG-13 for now, very likely NC-17 later on Pairing: SuzakuxLelouch Disclaimer: Still don't own Code Geass. If I did, ya'll know that it would be one long PWP, and unairable on anything other than HBO or Cinemax. X3 Warnings: Death and depressing stuff ahead. Also, it's AU and unbeta'd Summary: What if Nunnally died before Lelouch got his Geass? ( Look here! )For previous chapters of this fic, click on the "downward spiral" tag or just scroll down.
This "review" is for two games this time: "Code Geass DS" and Death Note: Kira Game. ( This way! )
My days either suck or are boring as hell, why would I want to relive any of them? Fic update: Will write and post more of Betrayal when I get up the inspiration to write on anything and/or can think of exactly where I want it to go. For anyone following "An Unlikely Couple" on aff.net, same there. I'll write on it when I can think of where I want the next chapter to go. I'm dealing with a massive case of "the blahs" right now...
